Thick 8vo [20.5 by 12.5 cm], contemporary full vellum over stiff boards; sides paneled in blind with gilt floral sprays at the interior corners and a central gilt lozenge; flat spine lettered in ink. Finely engraved historiated title by Romain de Hooghe, with minor light tinting; printed title in red and black with a finely engraved vignette; 11 printed leaves; 672, (4), 561–588, (108), 46 pages; woodcut headpieces and initials; folding facsimile of an inscription printed in red and black; 30 finely engraved plates, mainly depicting ancient Roman coins. Minor discoloration and spotting to binding, which lacks ties; title page with effaced ink notations; contents generally near fine with occasional browning or spotting. Very good or better.
