Some light discoloration and staining to second volume, with more obvious but still minor staining to third volume. Occasional annotations, most prevalent in the genealogy. A major work on the ancient coins of Spain, both Greek and Roman (with some treatment of the later Visigothic coins). One of the great classic numismatic works of the 18th century, still of considerable interest. Very scarce, especially with the final volume. Henrique Flórez de Setién y Huidobro (1701–1773) was an Augustinian priest who was a Professor of Theology at the University of Alcalá and had served as Provincial of the Province of Castille. He was a prolific writer on historical and theological topics, and was a knowledgeable numismatist. The present work on the ancient coins of Spain was published in two volumes in 1757 and 1758, with the third volume following only in 1773. This is the first complete set we have offered since 1999.
