PICTORIAL RECORD OF THE L. BIAGGI BLASYS COLLECTION OF ROMAN GOLD COINS AND MEDALLIONS.

4to, modern blue quarter leather, gilt, with marbled sides; spine ruled and lettered in gilt. Bound volume of 134 leaves reproducing the photographic record of the entire collection of Leo Biaggi de Blasys, comprising some 2398 coins. Fine. Item #7737

A useful illustrative record of Biaggi’s astonishing collection of Roman gold coins. Important. Leo Biaggi de Blasys (1906–1979) assembled one of the greatest collections of Roman gold coins ever formed. Sold outright to Bank Leu in 1978, the coins were introduced gradually into the marketplace over a period of about thirty years. This volume comprises bound reproductions on plain paper of the rare photographs produced of this collection; while not of the same quality as the photographs, they are suitable for plate-matching coins.
