A 1946 printing of the popular Philip Marlowe mystery published as The High Window, as issued with a 1947 dust-jacket promoting the movie version, released as The Brasher Doubloon. Directed by John Brahm, and starring George Montgomery as Philip Marlowe and Nancy Guild as Merle Davis, the screenplay by Dorothy Bennett and Leonard Perkin adapted Chandler’s novel, which finds private investigator Marlowe on the trail of a stolen Brasher doubloon.
