An interesting letter to New York State Comptroller John A. Collier regarding an unsigned and unregistered $2 note on the Kinderhook Bank received by Collier. The RW&H representative denies that this could be part of a package of 100 notes that were apparently overprinted. Collier was the New York State Comptroller from January 1841 through February 1842, at which time he was removed from office, along with all other Whigs serving as state officers, by the Democratic Party.
