Inscribed on the front card cover to Frank Katen and signed by the author in English and Chinese and with Coole’s “chopmarks.” Letter from Coole to “Katjen,” also signed, affixed to flyleaf. Fine. Number 13 of only 40 copies issued. The rare inventory of Coole’s collection of 6289 pieces, sold in October of 1963 to Jack Klausen. Though comprised largely of coins, included in the collection were a number of unusual items such as molds, seals, plates for printing paper money, coin trees, primitive currency, etc. Ex Frank and Laurese Katen, with their bookplate. Ex William A. Burd Library, with correspondence laid in regarding the possible donation of this volume to the ANA Library (which turned out already to have a copy).
