New York: Printed for the Author, 1849. 12mo, original plain blue paper covers, stitched. 22, (2) pages. Folded; some spotting. Very good or so. Item #5631
A rare printing of a series of nine letters first published between March and July 1848 in several New York newspapers. Williams, writing under the penname Publius, takes as his starting point the notion that “the present banking system of all the States is a fraud on the people, and in its operations, corrupting the people’s morals...” Quite interesting.
