COLLECTION OF COINS, COLONIAL AND CONTINENTAL CURRENCY, U.S. FRACTIONAL NOTES, ETC., OF E.B. STERLING, ESQ., OF TRENTON, N.J.

New York: Feb. 9, 1887. Cover title cited. 8vo, original printed paper covers. 25, (1) pages; 551 lots. Partly hand-priced in pencil in Henry Chapman’s handwriting, with occasional annotations. Folded for mailing; very good or better. Item #5531

Adams 64: “1838, 1839 $1. Excellent colonial and fractional currency.” Henry Chapman’s bidbook, though not identified as such and not extensively annotated: indeed, Henry didn’t bother pricing much of the catalogue, writing “Get it priced” at the end of the sale as a reminder to himself. The Canadian tokens, early dollars, and fractional currency are the most annotated sections. Ex Phil Carrigan Library.

Price: $120.00
